Research on Improving Hospitality of Mobile Dialogue Robots
Principal Investigator · JSPS KAKENHI Grant-in-Aid for Early-Career Scientists, Grant No. 25K21312 · April 2025 – March 2028
Robots are increasingly deployed as guides in public facilities, yet a mobile guide robot often fails to keep up with changing surroundings and with users’ needs while it is moving, and the hospitality it offers degrades as a result. This project develops technologies that allow a mobile dialogue robot to adapt flexibly to both its environment and its users so that it can offer consistently high hospitality, with the aim of establishing the foundations for mobile guide robots that adapt to environment and user alike.

Research and Development of a Cyber-I Open Service Platform
Research Collaborator (Principal Investigator: Prof. Jianhua Ma, Hosei University) · JSPS KAKENHI Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (C), Grant No. 26330350 · April 2014 – March 2018
Cyber-I (Cyber Individual) is a digital counterpart of a real individual that is expected to approximate a person’s behavior, and even mind, ever more closely as personal data accumulate. The project researched and developed an open service platform that collects and processes rich personal big data from many sources and devices to create, administer and model Cyber-Is, including a cloud–fog database system with smartphones as gateways, strategies for controlling Cyber-I growth, and studies on the protection and use of personal information. My contributions centered on smartphone-based personal data collection from multiple wearable devices and on personality and affect modeling from personal big data.
